How our interpreting works

We are a translation company based in Ankara. We do not have interpreters on staff in the UK or an office you can visit; what we do is arrange interpreters from a network of professionals we have vetted, match them to your setting, confirm their qualifications in writing and manage the booking, the paperwork and the invoice. Remote interpreting by telephone or video is our default because it can be arranged quickly and costs less. In-person interpreting is available in London subject to availability and elsewhere in the UK by arrangement with more notice. If we cannot staff a booking we tell you at once rather than confirm and hope.

Settings we cover

  • Court and tribunal interpreting: conferences with counsel, witness proofing, police station attendance, private hearings, mediation. Where a court appoints its own interpreter we explain how that works and what a private interpreter can add.
  • Medical and NHS interpreting: consultations, consent discussions, mental-health assessments, antenatal appointments, occupational health, private clinics.
  • Turkish Consulate appointments: a Turkish-speaking interpreter for a non-Turkish-speaking spouse or party at a consular notary act, where the consulate requires one.
  • Business and conference interpreting: negotiations, factory visits, trade fairs, board meetings, simultaneous interpreting for conferences with equipment partners.
  • Telephone and video interpreting: any of the above without travel, on your platform or ours.
  • Public-sector and community: school meetings, social services, housing, benefits assessments, solicitors’ immigration interviews.
  • Kurdish (Kurmanji and Sorani) alongside Turkish; see Kurdish.

Who the interpreters are

Interpreters are matched to the setting. For legal and police work we book interpreters who hold the qualifications the court, solicitor or police force specifies, such as the Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (legal) or registration with the National Register of Public Service Interpreters, and we send you the interpreter’s name and credentials before the assignment. For medical work, interpreters with DPSI (health) or equivalent experience and an understanding of consent and confidentiality. For business, interpreters with sector experience and, for conferences, simultaneous training. We do not send an unqualified bilingual person to a setting that calls for a professional, and we say when a booking is outside what we can staff.

What it costs

Remote interpreting is charged by the hour from £45 per hour, with a minimum booking and 15-minute increments thereafter. In-person interpreting is charged by the hour or half day plus travel time and expenses agreed at booking; London assignments carry a minimum of two or three hours depending on the setting. Cancellation terms are stated on the confirmation: usually no charge with two working days’ notice for remote, more for in-person. Simultaneous conference interpreting is quoted per day for a team of two with equipment. No UK VAT is charged. Solicitors, NHS bodies and companies are invoiced on account.

How to book

  1. Tell us the date, time, expected duration, setting, location or platform, the language pair (Turkish, Kurmanji, Sorani) and anything the interpreter should prepare for, such as case papers, medical letters or a meeting agenda.
  2. We confirm availability, rate and the interpreter’s credentials in writing, usually within a working day for remote bookings and two to three days for in-person.
  3. On the day, the interpreter joins the call or arrives fifteen minutes early. For remote bookings you receive dial-in or video details in advance.
  4. You receive a timesheet and invoice; feedback on the interpreter is asked for and acted on.

What we do not do

We do not claim to have a London office or interpreters waiting in reception, we do not supply interpreters for HMCTS-appointed roles that the court books through its own contractor, and we do not send an interpreter to a Turkish consulate act without confirming the consulate’s requirement for that act first. The interpreting FAQs cover the common questions.

What you receive

  • Interpreter matched to the setting with credentials confirmed in writing before the assignment
  • Remote sessions by telephone or video on your platform or ours
  • In-person attendance in London subject to availability, elsewhere by arrangement
  • Written confirmation with rate, minimum booking and cancellation terms
  • Timesheet and invoice; account terms for firms and public bodies

Frequently asked questions

Do you have interpreters in London?

We arrange interpreters who are based in and around London; we do not have an office or staff there. Availability for in-person bookings is confirmed case by case.

Can I book an interpreter for tomorrow?

Remote bookings can often be arranged at a day’s notice. In-person bookings at short notice depend on who is free; we will tell you within hours whether it is possible.

Are your interpreters registered with the NRPSI?

For legal and police assignments we book interpreters who hold the registration or qualification the instructing party specifies and send their details in advance. Not every setting needs NRPSI registration, and we match the requirement rather than apply one standard to everything.

Does the interpreter keep what they hear confidential?

Yes. Interpreters work under a confidentiality undertaking and the professional codes of their registers; nothing from an assignment is shared with anyone other than the instructing client.

What if I need the interpreter for longer than booked?

Overruns are charged in 15-minute increments at the booked rate, subject to the interpreter’s availability for the next slot. Tell us if a hearing or meeting may run long and we will book accordingly.

Send us the document and we will quote a fixed price

Photograph or scan every page, tell us who will receive the translation, and we reply with the price and the delivery date. Usually within one working hour, Monday to Friday.
