Turkish company documents for the UK

A Turkish company opening a UK bank account, forming a UK subsidiary, bidding for a contract or proving who its directors are will be asked for the same small set of documents, and UK readers rarely know what they are. We translate them with a short heading note explaining the document’s function:

  • Ticaret sicil gazetesi (trade registry gazette): the published record of incorporation, capital, directors and changes.
  • Faaliyet belgesi (certificate of activity), the closest Turkish equivalent of a certificate of good standing, and the oda kayıt belgesi (chamber registration).
  • İmza sirküleri (signature circular), which UK banks and solicitors need to see who can bind the company.
  • Ana sözleşme (articles of association) and general assembly resolutions.
  • Vergi levhası (tax certificate), tax and social security clearance letters.
  • Invoices, proforma invoices, certificates of origin and origin declarations under the UK–Turkey trade agreement.
  • Employment contracts, references and payroll records for sponsor licence and Skilled Worker files.

These are usually delivered as certified translations. Companies House, HMRC, banks and solicitors have accepted them to date; a UK notary or apostille is rarely requested, and where a counterparty abroad asks we can apostille the Turkish original in Ankara.

UK company documents for Türkiye

Setting up a company in Türkiye, opening a branch, registering a trade mark, entering a public tender or signing before a Turkish notary with UK corporate documents requires each document to be apostilled by the FCDO and then translated and notarised in Türkiye. The standard set is the certificate of incorporation, certificate of good standing, current appointments or confirmation statement, articles of association, a board resolution and, for the signatory, a passport copy and often a UK-notarised signature specimen. We handle the translation and notarisation in Ankara and can deliver to your Turkish accountant or lawyer directly; see notarised translation in Turkey and setting up a company in Turkey.

Commercial translation without certification

Much business translation needs no stamp at all: supplier correspondence, tenders, product catalogues, company profiles, HR policies, training material, presentations and reports. These are delivered as editable files in the original format with a glossary of your company’s terms, and priced per page at the same rates. Contracts for signature are usually produced as two-column bilingual documents. For websites, product listings and software see website and e-commerce localisation.

What it costs

Turkish to English from £10.00 per page, English to Turkish from £6.50 per page, on 1,000 characters of source text. A signature circular is one to two pages; a trade registry gazette extract two to four; articles of association eight to twenty. Fixed quote per set before we start, with the page count per document shown. Notary tariff and apostille in Ankara passed through at cost (about £12–15 per page and £15 per document in 2026). Account invoicing for companies and law firms. No UK VAT is charged.

Turnaround

Registry documents 1–2 working days; a full formation set with notarisation about 5 working days after the apostilled originals reach us; commercial material at roughly 2,500 words per translator per day, faster with a team.

How we keep company translations consistent

Every client gets a termbase: company name as registered, director names as in passports, product names, defined terms. Once fixed, those terms do not drift between the gazette extract translated in March and the contract translated in October. Numbers, dates and capital amounts are checked by a second linguist against the original, because a wrong share figure on a registry translation is the sort of error a bank will notice.

What you receive

  • Certified translation with a heading note explaining each Turkish document’s function
  • Client termbase kept for consistency across later work
  • Editable files in the original format for commercial material
  • Ankara notarised and apostilled versions for Turkish registries and notaries
  • Account invoicing with purchase order

Frequently asked questions

Does Companies House need a certified translation of Turkish documents?

Where a filing includes a document in another language, Companies House expects an English translation certified as correct. Our certification statement covers this and has been accepted to date; check the specific form’s guidance for whether the original must also be filed.

What is the Turkish equivalent of a certificate of good standing?

There is no exact equivalent. The faaliyet belgesi from the trade registry or chamber of commerce confirms the company is registered and active, and is what Turkish companies provide. We translate it with a note saying so.

Which UK documents does a Turkish trade registry want for a subsidiary?

Typically the certificate of incorporation, good standing, articles, a board resolution authorising the formation and the signatory’s passport, all apostilled, with notarised Turkish translations. Your Turkish lawyer will confirm the current list for the registry concerned.

Can you translate a contract so both parties sign one document?

Yes, as a two-column bilingual contract with a clause stating which language governs. We recommend having the governing-language version reviewed by a lawyer in that jurisdiction.
