A complete translation laid out like the original, a copy of the original, and a signed and dated certification statement confirming that it is a true and accurate translation of the original document, with our company details.
What the receiving body requires
“If you need to certify a translation of a document that's not written in English or Welsh, ask the translator to confirm in writing on the translation: that it's a ‘true and accurate translation of the original document’; the date of the translation; their full name and contact details.”

We translate the whole document: every field, stamp, seal, signature line, handwritten note and marginal annotation, and the back of the page if it carries anything. Nothing is summarised or left out. The layout mirrors the original so that a caseworker can place the two side by side and match each item.
- Names are spelt as in your passport or UK application, with the original spelling noted where it differs.
- Dates keep the day-month-year order and are written unambiguously.
- Turkish institutions and document types are given in English with the Turkish term in brackets on first mention, for example civil registry extract (nüfus kayıt örneği).
- Illegible items are marked as illegible rather than guessed.
The certification statement
The last page of every certified translation is a signed statement in English. It reads, in substance:
Hacettepe Translation (Hacettepe Tercüme Bilgisayar Yazılım Danışmanlık ve İnternet Hizmetleri Ticaret Limited Şirketi), a translation company registered in Ankara, Türkiye, since 2008 (Ankara Trade Registry no. 256268, MERSİS no. 0454051565600012), confirms that the attached document is a true and accurate translation of the original document, a copy of which is attached. Date of translation: [date]. Signed: [full name of the certifying signatory], for and on behalf of Hacettepe Translation. Address: Kızılay Mah. İhlamur Cad. İhlamur Apt. The statement is signed by hand on hard copies and carries our company stamp. On the PDF the signature and stamp are reproduced, and the PDF is protected against editing. A full sample is on the sample certification statement page.
Format: PDF and hard copy
You always receive a PDF by e-mail. It contains the translation, the copy of the original and the certification statement as one file, ready to upload to an online application or print. If you order a hard copy, the same document is printed, signed in ink, stamped and sent by courier from Ankara. Read delivery options.
What UK bodies ask for
The gov.uk guidance on certifying a translation asks for three things, all of which are in the statement above: the confirmation that it is a true and accurate translation of the original document, the date, and the full name and contact details of the translator or translation company. For leave to remain and indefinite leave to remain applications, Appendix FM-SE of the Immigration Rules also asks for details of the translator or translation company's credentials, which is why the statement includes our registration numbers and the year of registration. Accepted to date by
Translations carrying this statement have been accepted to date by the Home Office (UK Visas and Immigration), HM Passport Office, the General Register Office and UK ENIC. Acceptance is always the decision of the receiving body; if it rejects a translation because of its format, we re-issue it free. Read our accuracy and acceptance policy.
What is not included unless you order it
- Notarisation. UK bodies do not require it. Turkish authorities do; we arrange it in Ankara. See notarised translation in Türkiye.
- Apostille. Needed when a document crosses borders for use by a foreign authority, not for the translation used inside the UK. See apostille and legalisation.

Frequently asked questions
Is the PDF enough, or do I need the hard copy?
Online applications to UK Visas and Immigration, HM Passport Office and UK ENIC accept uploaded PDFs. Some registrars, courts and employers ask to see a signed paper copy. Tell us where the translation is going and we will advise.
Does the translation carry a stamp?
Yes. Our company stamp appears next to the signature on the certification statement, on both the PDF and the hard copy.
Will the translation say who the translator is?
The certification statement carries the full name and signature of the signatory certifying on behalf of the company, together with the company's details. This satisfies the gov.uk requirement for the full name and contact details of the translator or translation company.
