The facts a UK body may ask for about the company that certified your translation: our registration in Ankara since 2008, who translates your documents, and the accreditations we hold and do not hold.
Company registration
These are the details that appear on every certification statement we issue.

Who translates your documents
Our translators are sworn before a notary public in Türkiye (noter yeminli tercüman). To become sworn, a translator proves their language qualification to a notary and signs an oath; the notary keeps their signature on record and can then attest translations they sign. This is the system Turkish authorities rely on, and it is what allows us to produce notarised translations in Ankara for documents going to Türkiye.
For documents going to the UK, the same translators work into English, and a second linguist revises every translation against the original before we certify it. We do not publish a named list of translators. The person who signs your certification statement is named on it. Read about our team and quality process.
How our certification meets UK requirements
The UK has no sworn or state-registered translators, and no body keeps an approved list. Instead, gov.uk sets out what a certified translation must contain: a confirmation that it is a true and accurate translation of the original document, the date, and the full name and contact details of the translator or translation company. For leave to remain and indefinite leave to remain applications, Appendix FM-SE of the Immigration Rules also asks for details of the translator or translation company's credentials. What we do not hold
We prefer to state this plainly rather than let you assume it.
- We are not a member of the Association of Translation Companies (ATC) and do not use the ATC certification stamp.
- We hold no ISO 17100 or ISO 18587 certification. Our process includes revision by a second linguist, which ISO 17100 requires, but no certification body has audited it.
- We are not corporate members of the ITI or CIOL.
- We are not approved or endorsed by the Home Office or any other UK body. No translation company is.

Frequently asked questions
A form asks for the translator's qualifications. What do I write?
Write that the translation was certified by Hacettepe Translation (Hacettepe Tercüme Ltd. Şti.), Ankara Trade Registry number 256268, a translation company registered in Türkiye since 2008 working with translators sworn before a Turkish notary public. The certification statement itself already contains this.
Does the Home Office require an ATC member or an ISO-certified company?
No. The gov.uk guidance and the Immigration Rules describe what the translation must contain. They do not require membership of any association or any ISO certificate.
What does notary-sworn mean?
In Türkiye a translator can take an oath before a notary public, who records their qualification and signature. The notary can then attest translations that translator signs. This is the basis of a notarised translation (noter onaylı tercüme), which Turkish authorities accept. Read more in the glossary.
Can I check your registration?
Yes. The MERSİS number can be searched on the Turkish Ministry of Trade's central registry system, and trade registry announcements are published in the Türkiye Ticaret Sicili Gazetesi.
