Work with us
We work with freelance Turkish and English translators, most of them sworn before a notary public in Türkiye, and with interpreters based in the UK. Applications are by e-mail; there are no test fees.
Who we are looking for
- Translators, Turkish to English and English to Turkish. Experience with civil registry, court, academic, medical or financial documents. Sworn status before a Turkish notary (noter yeminli tercüman) is required for documents we notarise in Ankara and preferred for all other work.
- Revisers. Experienced translators who prefer checking to translating, with a sharp eye for names, dates and numbers.
- Interpreters based in the UK. Turkish and Kurdish interpreters for courts, tribunals, solicitors' offices, NHS appointments and consulate visits. A DPSI, a Level 6 diploma in community interpreting or NRPSI registration is an advantage. We arrange bookings; you attend in person or remotely. See Turkish interpreting services.
- Specialists. Legal, medical, technical, software and games localisation, subtitling.
What we ask
- A university degree in translation, languages or a relevant specialist field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least three years of professional translation or interpreting experience.
- Native-level command of the target language and full command of the source language.
- Care with formatting: certified translations must mirror the original.
- Willingness to sign a confidentiality agreement and to follow our file-handling rules.
How we work with freelancers
We send clear briefs with the purpose of the document, the required name spellings and the deadline. Every translation is revised by a second linguist and you receive the reviser's changes, so the feedback loop is real. We pay per source page of 1,000 characters at rates agreed in advance, monthly, by bank transfer, in Turkish lira or pounds sterling. We do not charge for tests, registration or training. Read about our team and quality process.
How to apply
E-mail [email protected] (subject line: Translator application) with:
- your CV and language pairs
- your specialisms and the types of document you work with most
- whether you are sworn before a Turkish notary, and if so, in which city
- for interpreters, your location in the UK and your qualifications
- your rates
We reply to every application. Suitable candidates receive a short paid test on a real document type. We keep application data for 12 months and then delete it unless you ask us to keep it longer. See our privacy notice.
Staff positions
Our staff roles are in Ankara. When we recruit, we advertise on this page. We do not have staff positions in the UK.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be in Türkiye?
Translators can be anywhere; notarisation is handled by our Ankara office. Interpreters need to be in the UK, near the courts and hospitals they will attend.
Do you pay for tests?
Yes. Test translations are short and paid at the normal rate. We never ask applicants for money.
Can I work for you if I am not notary-sworn?
Yes, for translations that are certified by us rather than notarised, and for interpreting. We can tell you how to become sworn if you are in Türkiye.
