Where business interpreting is needed

  • Negotiations with Turkish suppliers, distributors, franchisees and investors, in the UK or in Türkiye.
  • Factory audits and supplier visits in Turkish industrial regions: textiles, automotive parts, white goods, furniture, food.
  • Trade delegations and chamber-of-commerce missions in both directions.
  • Trade fairs in Istanbul, Ankara, İzmir, Bursa and Gaziantep, and Turkish exhibitors at UK fairs.
  • Board meetings, shareholder meetings and due diligence for UK–Turkish joint ventures.
  • Training sessions, product launches and dealer conferences.
  • Arbitration and expert meetings alongside our legal translation service.

In Türkiye: our home ground

Because we are based in Ankara, in-person business interpreting in Türkiye is arranged directly rather than through a partner: Ankara and Istanbul at short notice, other cities with a few days’ notice. A UK buyer visiting three factories in Bursa, a delegation meeting ministries in Ankara or an exhibitor at a fair in Istanbul gets an interpreter who knows the sector and the city, briefed from your agenda, for a day rate that includes local travel. We can also arrange the practical side of a visit through partners: transfers, meeting rooms, printed bilingual material.

In the UK

In London, in-person interpreters are arranged subject to availability; elsewhere in the UK with more notice. For a single meeting or a call with a Turkish counterpart, remote interpreting on your video platform is quick to set up and usually adequate. We have no office in the UK, and we say so; the interpreter comes to your premises, the counterpart’s premises or the venue.

Modes

Consecutive: the speaker pauses and the interpreter renders each passage; right for negotiations, meetings and site visits, and needs no equipment. Whispered (chuchotage): the interpreter interprets simultaneously in a low voice for one or two listeners; right for a board meeting where only one participant needs Turkish. Simultaneous: interpreters in a booth or with a portable system speak at the same time as the presenter; right for conferences and large training sessions, always with a team of two per language, and with equipment supplied through a partner in the UK or Türkiye. Remote simultaneous on platforms with interpretation channels is available for online events.

Preparation makes the difference

Send the agenda, participant list, previous minutes, product information and any slides a week ahead where possible. The interpreter builds a glossary from them, which we keep for your future meetings and share with the translators handling your contracts and correspondence, so the terms match across the whole relationship. Tell us the tone of the meeting: an interpreter briefed that a negotiation is at a delicate stage will handle register differently from one briefed for a technical training day.

What it costs

Remote consecutive interpreting from £45 per hour. In-person business interpreting is quoted by the half day or day, plus travel and expenses; in Türkiye the day rate includes local travel within the city. Simultaneous conference interpreting is quoted per day for a team of two, plus equipment where needed. Multi-day assignments and delegation programmes are priced as a package. No UK VAT is charged. Companies are invoiced on account; for assignments in Türkiye we can invoice in sterling or lira.

Confidentiality

Business interpreters sign confidentiality undertakings and will sign your NDA. Nothing heard in a negotiation is shared, and we do not work for both sides of the same negotiation without the knowledge of both.

What you receive

  • In-person attendance in Türkiye arranged directly from Ankara; in London subject to availability
  • Meeting glossary kept and shared with your document translators
  • NDA signed on request; account invoicing in sterling or lira

Frequently asked questions

Can you provide an interpreter for a factory visit in Bursa next week?

Usually yes. Türkiye is where we are based, and Bursa, Istanbul, Ankara and İzmir are covered at short notice. Send the dates and the itinerary.

Do we need two interpreters for a conference?

For simultaneous interpreting, yes: interpreters work in pairs and swap every 20–30 minutes. For consecutive interpreting at a meeting, one interpreter is enough for a normal day with breaks.

Can the interpreter join our Teams call with a Turkish supplier?

Yes. Send the meeting link and any documents in advance; the interpreter joins as a participant and interprets consecutively, or on a separate channel if your platform supports interpretation.

Will the interpreter negotiate for us?

No. The interpreter conveys what each side says, accurately and in the same tone. If you want an adviser or agent in Türkiye we can suggest how to find one, but that is a different role.

Send us the document and we will quote a fixed price

Photograph or scan every page, tell us who will receive the translation, and we reply with the price and the delivery date. Usually within one working hour, Monday to Friday.
