Accessibility statement

Our commitment

Hacettepe Translation wants as many people as possible to be able to use this website. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We are a private company and not covered by the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018, but we follow the same standard, and we recognise our duty under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments.

How accessible this website is

On this site you should be able to:

• change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or device settings
• zoom to 400 per cent without text spilling off the screen
• navigate using only a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator on every link, button and form field
• use a screen reader; pages have a logical heading structure, landmarks and labelled form fields
• read the text, which is written in plain English with short sentences

The site uses no animation, no autoplaying media and no time limits on forms. Colour is never the only way information is conveyed. Tables have header rows. Links say where they go.

We test the site with automated tools and a keyboard on every release, and with a screen reader at least twice a year. When we find a problem we fix it or list it here with a date by which it will be fixed.

If you find something that does not work for you, tell us at [email protected] with the page address and what went wrong. We reply within 5 working days and tell you what we will do. If you are not satisfied with our answer, use the complaints procedure.

Technical information

This website is built on Drupal with a custom theme. It uses relative units, semantic HTML, ARIA only where native HTML is not enough, and no third-party scripts except the analytics described on the cookies page. The PDFs we deliver to customers are tagged where the layout allows; a certified translation mirrors the original document, which limits tagging, so we can also supply the text separately on request.
