Numbers, formats and what caseworkers check
A financial translation is read against the original line by line, so layout matters as much as language. We reproduce statements as tables in the original order, keep account numbers, IBANs and transaction references exactly, and translate transaction descriptions (havale, EFT, maaş, kira, FAST) into plain English with the Turkish term in brackets on first use. Turkish uses a decimal comma and a thousands point; we convert to UK notation and say so in a translator’s note, and we never convert currencies, because the caseworker applies the exchange rate on the date of application. Bank stamps, e-signature blocks and “bu belge elektronik imzalıdır” footers are translated so that a reader can see the document was issued by the bank rather than printed at home. For UKVI, remember that statements must usually cover a set period and be recent; we flag gaps in dates when we see them, though the sufficiency of evidence is for you or your adviser to judge.
Certification for UKVI
Appendix FM-SE requires translations to confirm accuracy, be dated, give the translator’s name and contact details and, for leave to remain and ILR, include certification by a qualified translator with the translator’s or company’s credentials. Our certification statement carries all of these. Document pages: Turkish bank statement, SGK service record, tapu.
What it costs
From £10.00 per page Turkish to English and £6.50 per page English to Turkish, on 1,000 characters of source text. Bank statements are counted on the characters they contain, so a sparse two-page statement is often a single billable page while a dense six-month statement may be several. We quote a fixed price for the whole set before starting and show the page count per document. Certification is included; economy and express tiers apply. No UK VAT is charged.
Turnaround
A set of three months’ statements and payslips in 1–2 working days; six-month sets and company accounts in 2–4 working days; same-day for a single statement received before 11:00 UK time.
Turkish authorities
UK financial documents going to SGK, a Turkish bank, a tax office or a tender must be translated and notarised in Türkiye, usually with an FCDO apostille on any public document (HMRC letters, DWP pension statements). We prepare these in Ankara as notarised translations and can send them straight to your accountant or bank in Türkiye.

Frequently asked questions
Do you convert Turkish lira amounts into pounds?
No. Amounts stay in the original currency; the caseworker or lender applies the exchange rate on the relevant date. We can add an information-only conversion table on request, clearly marked as not part of the certified translation.
My bank statement is a PDF from internet banking. Is that acceptable?
UKVI accepts electronic statements if they carry the bank’s name and logo or are stamped by the bank on each page. Translating the e-signature footer helps show provenance, but the acceptability of the statement itself is a UKVI rule, not a translation matter.
Can you translate a large set of statements cheaply?
Because we count characters rather than physical pages, statements with few transactions cost little. For six-month sets we quote a fixed price per document and offer the economy tier.
Which documents does SGK need translated for buying back years abroad?
Evidence of UK employment or residence periods such as P60s, HMRC employment history or NI record, notarised in Türkiye. See SGK yurtdışı borçlanması.
