The Social Security Institution (Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu, SGK) keeps a record of every insured working day in Türkiye, and the registration and service record (SGK tescil ve hizmet dökümü) is the printout of it, downloaded from e-Devlet with a barcode. It is organised by insurance status: 4/a for employees (the former SSK), 4/b for the self-employed and company partners (the former Bağ-Kur) and 4/c for public servants (the former Emekli Sandığı). For each employer or business it gives the workplace registration number and name, the province, the dates of starting and leaving, the number of insured days in each month, the earnings on which contributions were paid (prime esas kazanç, PEK) and, where relevant, the reason for missing days and the reason for leaving, both expressed as numeric codes. It ends with the total days of service, and it can include periods bought back for time abroad (yurt dışı borçlanması).
Public servants receive a separate service schedule (hizmet cetveli). We translate whichever record you hold, with the codes expanded in a key, the abbreviations explained and the tables reproduced, and we leave every earnings figure in Turkish lira as printed.
When a UK body asks for it
- The DWP and the International Pension Centre. The United Kingdom and Türkiye have a social security agreement, and periods insured in Türkiye can be relevant to a UK State Pension claim; the Pension Service may ask for the Turkish record. See translations for DWP and benefit claims.
- Security vetting and employers. Baseline and higher-level vetting require a continuous employment history over several years, and the SGK record is the single document that verifies Turkish employment dates.
- Mortgage lenders and banks, for an applicant whose self-employment history is in Türkiye under 4/b.
- The Home Office. A visitor visa applicant showing employment ties to Türkiye, a sponsor documenting employment abroad before returning to the UK, or a Skilled Worker applicant whose sponsor wants evidence of experience.
- Family court, in maintenance proceedings where a party's earnings history in Türkiye is in issue.
- Universities, for MBA and other programmes that verify work experience.

What the translation must contain
The DWP, vetting bodies, lenders and the Home Office apply the gov.uk standard quoted below. Our certificate confirms the translation is true and accurate, gives the date and identifies Hacettepe Translation with its Ankara Trade Registry number, address, contact details and a signature. Every page of the record is attached and numbered, and the e-Devlet verification note is translated so the reader can check the record online.
The codes are the difficult part. A reason-for-leaving code of 04 or a missing-days code of 01 means nothing to a UK reader, so the key gives each code's meaning as published by SGK. Insurance statuses are rendered as employee (4/a), self-employed (4/b) and public servant (4/c) with the Turkish in brackets, and the former institution names are given once for readers who know them. Earnings are not converted; the reader applies the exchange rate their own rules require.
Apostille and e-Devlet
No UK body has required an apostille on an SGK record, and the e-Devlet record cannot be apostilled at present in any case; it is verified by its barcode. If a body insists on a stamped paper record, any SGK provincial directorate issues one, and we translate it in the same way.
Price and turnaround
The record is dense: a printed page carries around 2,000 characters, so each physical page counts as about two pages of translation. A ten-year record of four to eight printed pages therefore comes to £80.00 to £160.00, with certification included and no UK VAT. Where a body only needs totals, SGK's shorter service summary is a better document to translate than an extract from the full record, and we say so when we quote. Standard turnaround is 2 to 3 working days as a certified PDF; the economy option cuts the price by 20 per cent over twice the time and suits long records, and the fast option halves the time for 60 per cent more. A signed hard copy by courier from Ankara is £30; we have no UK office and do not offer collection.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need the whole record translated, or just the summary page?
It depends on who is asking. Vetting bodies and lenders want the employer-by-employer detail. The Pension Service is often content with totals, in which case the shorter SGK summary is the document to translate. Send us the request and we will advise before quoting.
What are 4/a, 4/b and 4/c?
Insurance statuses: 4/a is employees, 4/b the self-employed and company partners, 4/c public servants. The translation states each with the Turkish in brackets and, once, the names of the former institutions (SSK, Bağ-Kur, Emekli Sandığı) that older readers know.
Will you convert the earnings into pounds?
No. Figures stay in Turkish lira as printed. The DWP, a lender or the Home Office applies the exchange rate its own rules specify, and a translation that converts is treated as altered.
What do the codes in the missing-days and reason-for-leaving columns mean?
They are SGK's numeric codes, for example 01 for sick leave among the missing-days codes. The translation expands each code that appears in your record in a key.
Can the DWP check the record?
The e-Devlet record carries a barcode and a verification note, which we translate. The DWP can also request confirmation through the social security agreement channels if it needs to.
