Turkish Consulate fee schedule update

Consular charges are set in the Turkish fees legislation and republished in pounds by each mission. We do not reproduce the schedule here, because a stale figure is worse than none: check the mission's own page before your appointment.

How the charges are set

Consular fees come from the Turkish fees legislation, are revised at the start of each year, and are then converted and published in pounds sterling by each mission. That means the London, Edinburgh and Manchester schedules are the same in substance but expressed in a currency amount that only the missions can state authoritatively. The current figures are published on the official page linked from this update; check them there, because they change without notice. Recent practice has put notary-unit work in the region of £30 to £40 for a single A4 page, which is a planning figure rather than a quote.

Two rules that cost people money

One appointment covers one act. A vekâletname and a muvafakatname are two acts, and two slots, even for the same family on the same morning. And some steps need a payment method the consulate specifies rather than a card at the counter: marriage registration, for example, has historically been paid by postal order. Read the mission's note for the service you need before you travel.

What is not a consular fee

Translation is charged separately and is not part of the schedule. Where the consulate requires a translation by a translator on its accredited list, the translator's charge and the consular tercüme tasdiki are two different payments. Our consulate notary services page sets out what each act involves, and the consulate questions page answers the ones we are asked most.
