P60 — explained for Turkish readers
The end-of-tax-year certificate an employer gives each employee showing total pay and the tax and National Insurance deducted between 6 April and 5 April.
A P60 is the summary an employer must give every employee still on the payroll at the end of the UK tax year, which runs from 6 April to 5 April. It shows gross pay for the year, income tax deducted, National Insurance contributions and the employer's PAYE reference, and must be issued by 31 May. It is the standard proof of annual earnings for mortgages, tax refunds and visa financial requirements.
Türkiye has no single document like it. A Turkish employee has monthly maaş bordroları and can print an SGK hizmet dökümü, but no employer-issued annual certificate, so the P60 is translated descriptively rather than by a set term. Alongside it, a P45 is the form issued when employment ends.
Turkish bodies encounter the P60 in SGK borçlanma files, consular residence proofs and bank applications, where it is translated with the payslips it summarises. See P60, P45 and payslips translated into Turkish.
