Company registry documents, contracts, invoices and trade paperwork in both directions: what Companies House, UK banks and HMRC accept, what Turkish trade registries and notaries require, and how business accounts and invoicing work.
Business documents follow the same two-direction logic as personal ones. A Turkish ticaret sicil gazetesi, faaliyet belgesi, imza sirküleri or set of accounts used with a UK bank, Companies House, HMRC or a UK customer needs a certified English translation. A UK certificate of incorporation, certificate of good standing, articles of association or board resolution used to set up a Turkish company, open a Turkish bank account or sign a Turkish contract needs an FCDO apostille and a translation notarised in Türkiye, which we produce in Ankara. Contracts, tenders, invoices and trade documents under the UK–Turkey trade agreement are translated without certification unless a counterparty asks for it. Frequently asked questions
Which Turkish company documents does a UK bank usually want?
Typically the trade registry gazette entry (ticaret sicil gazetesi) showing incorporation and directors, the certificate of activity (faaliyet belgesi), the signature circular (imza sirküleri) and recent accounts or tax certificate. Banks vary; ask for their list and send us the documents together so terminology stays consistent.
What does a Turkish trade registry need from a UK company?
For forming a Turkish company or registering a branch: the certificate of incorporation, certificate of good standing, articles of association, a board resolution and the signatory's passport, each apostilled by the FCDO and translated into Turkish by a sworn translator and notarised in Türkiye. Do contracts need certified translation?
Not usually. A contract translation is for the parties' understanding, and certification is only needed if a court, notary or registry will receive it. We translate contracts at the per-page rate with a client termbase; if a Turkish notary will certify the signing, the translation is notarised in Ankara.
Can you translate our accounts and tax documents for HMRC?
Yes. Turkish financial statements, vergi levhası and tax returns are translated with figures converted to British number format and currency left in lira. HMRC has no published translation rule, but agencies report it asks for certified translations of foreign financial documents; ours are certified by default. See translations for HMRC.
What about invoices and origin declarations under the UK–Turkey trade agreement?
The A.TR movement certificate no longer applies between the UK and Türkiye; origin is declared on the invoice. Where a customs broker or customer needs the Turkish invoice, packing list or certificate of origin in English, we translate them, certified if requested. Do you open business accounts?
Yes, for solicitors, accountants, agencies and companies with regular volume. An account means monthly invoicing, an agreed standard turnaround, a dedicated project manager who knows your documents, and a shared termbase so that terminology stays consistent across jobs. Will your invoice work for our UK VAT records?
Our invoice shows our Turkish company details, the service, the amount in pounds sterling and a statement that no UK VAT is charged. Whether reverse-charge VAT applies to a UK business buying services from a Turkish supplier is a question for your accountant; most UK VAT-registered businesses account for it under the reverse charge.
Can you sign an NDA and handle confidential tender documents?
Yes. We sign the client's NDA or provide ours, restrict access to named staff, and keep files on our own systems in Ankara. Machine translation is not used on confidential material unless the client asks for post-editing on a tool whose terms exclude training on the input; public tools are never used.
Do you localise websites and software as well as translate documents?
