A student certificate (öğrenci belgesi) confirms that a person is currently enrolled at a Turkish university or school. University students download it from e-Devlet, where the Council of Higher Education's student database generates a PDF with a barcode and a verification code, or obtain a stamped version from the student affairs office (öğrenci işleri). School pupils receive one from the school through the e-Okul system. The certificate states the student's T.C. kimlik number and student number, the institution, faculty and programme, the type of programme (daytime, evening, open or distance education), the year of study, the date of first enrolment, the academic year and term, and the student's status, for example active or on approved leave (kayıt dondurmuş). Certificates issued to male students often carry a line stating that the document has been issued for military-service deferment purposes; it is a standard purpose line and does not restrict the use of the certificate.

When a UK body asks for it
- Standard Visitor visa. A student visiting the UK for a holiday, a short course or a family visit is asked to show ties to Türkiye, and the Home Office's guide to supporting documents lists confirmation of enrolment from the education provider among them. - Exchange and placement programmes. A UK host university receiving a Turkish student on Erasmus+ or a bilateral exchange asks for proof of current enrolment at the home university.
- Transfer applications to a UK university part-way through a Turkish degree, where the admissions office needs to see current standing alongside the transcript.
- Family visa applications, where a child's continuing education in Türkiye, or a parent's, is part of the family circumstances being evidenced.
- Banks and letting agents occasionally, when a student's status explains the absence of employment income.
What the translation must contain
The Home Office and universities apply the gov.uk standard quoted below. Our certificate confirms that the translation is true and accurate, gives the date and identifies the company with its Ankara Trade Registry number, address, contact details and a signature. The Turkish certificate is attached, and the verification note is translated so that a caseworker can check the document online. See are e-Devlet documents accepted in the UK.
Two fields tend to raise questions. The programme type matters to a university: ikinci öğretim is an evening programme leading to the same degree, and açıköğretim is open education; we translate each with a short description rather than a bare label. The status field must be exact: an enrolled student on approved leave is not the same as an active student, and a visa caseworker reads the difference.
Apostille and validity
No apostille is required by the Home Office or UK universities for a student certificate, and the e-Devlet version is verified by its code. The certificate reflects the term in which it was issued, so download it shortly before you apply; a certificate from a previous academic year can be questioned. Our translation carries the issue date shown on the certificate as well as the date of translation.

Frequently asked questions
Is the e-Devlet certificate acceptable for a visitor visa?
Yes, to date. It carries a verification code that the Home Office can check, and we translate the instructions. Download it within a few weeks of the application so that it shows the current term.
My certificate says it was issued for military-service deferment. Does that matter?
No. It is a standard purpose line that e-Devlet adds for male students, and we translate it with a brief note explaining that. The certificate is still proof of enrolment.
Can you translate my child's school certificate from e-Okul?
Yes. It is a one-page document in the same price band and is often used in family visa applications to show a child's schooling in Türkiye.
Is the student certificate enough to show ties to Türkiye?
It is one piece of evidence. The Home Office looks at the whole picture, and applicants commonly add a family registry extract, a bank statement and a letter from the university. We translate all of those.
I am on approved leave from my course. Will the translation say so?
Yes. The status field is translated exactly. If your circumstances are better explained by a letter from the university, we translate that too.
