Türkiye is one of the UK’s closest clothing and home-textile suppliers, and the language sits everywhere in the chain: tech packs, fabric specifications, audit reports, care labels and the invoices that follow them.
Where the language sits in the supply chain
Buying teams send tech packs, size and grading charts, fabric and trim specifications, lab dip and test reports, and production schedules. Compliance teams send factory audit reports and supplier codes of conduct into Turkish. Finance and logistics send invoices, proformas and a certificate of origin, which is where this sector overlaps with import, export and logistics. Brands selling into Türkiye send the reverse: product copy, size guides and returns policies in Turkish.
Care labels and fibre names
Composition and care information is regulated in the UK and has to use recognised fibre names, so this is not a place for approximate wording. "Viskon" is viscose, "pamuk" is cotton, "suni deri" is not leather, and a mistranslated blend percentage makes a garment mislabelled rather than merely inelegant. We keep percentages, fibre names and care symbols exactly as specified, use the standard English fibre terms, and query rather than interpret when a supplier’s sheet is inconsistent with the tech pack. Where a factory writes in shorthand — and most do — we ask what it means instead of guessing.
Speed in a sampling season
Sampling and pre-production run on days, not weeks. A tech pack sent at the end of a UK working day is opened at the start of ours in Ankara, which usually means comments back before your next morning. We hold a glossary per brand so that a seam finish, a wash or a trim keeps one name from the first sample through to bulk, and so that a new season does not start with the same fifteen questions.
Terms and prices
Buying offices and suppliers work on an agreed page rate with monthly invoicing terms we agree with you in writing before the first job. English into Turkish is from £6.50 per 1,000-character page and Turkish into English from £10.00, with no UK VAT charged. A tech pack of two or three pages of text is usually £15–25; a factory audit report of twenty pages is quoted from the file and commonly falls between £120 and £200; care-label text is short and priced at the one-page minimum. Certified translations for customs or a dispute are included at the same rate.

Can you work directly with our Turkish supplier?
Yes, if you want us to. Many buyers prefer us to raise queries with the factory in Turkish and report back in English, which removes a round trip.
Do you translate inside Excel tech packs?
Yes. Send the working file rather than a PDF export and the structure survives, which saves you rebuilding it.
Who is responsible for label wording being compliant?
The brand placing the product on the market. We supply accurate fibre and care wording in standard English terms; the compliance sign-off remains yours.
Can you keep terminology stable across seasons?
That is the point of the glossary. It is maintained per client and applied to every job, and we tell you when a supplier introduces a new term.
