Vukuatlı — meaning and English translation
Vukuatlı describes a civil registry extract that includes the recorded events (vukuat): marriages, divorces, births, deaths and name changes, not only a person's current details.
Vukuat is an old word for “events” or “incidents”, and vukuatlı means “with the events included”. Applied to a nüfus kayıt örneği, it marks the full version of the extract: alongside the person's current details, it reproduces every entry ever recorded against the family register, including earlier marriages, divorces, children, deaths and corrections. The short version without these entries is the one e-Devlet produces by default; the vukuatlı version has to be selected, and the older paper form was stamped by the Nüfus Müdürlüğü.
Our rendering is “civil registry extract with event history”. We never write “eventful”, which is the dictionary translation and reads as a joke in English. A translator's note can explain what an entry such as “boşanma” or “tashih” refers to.
