Share code — explained for Turkish readers
A code generated from your UKVI account that lets an employer, landlord or other checker view your immigration status online for a limited time.
A share code is generated from your UKVI account and given to whoever needs to check your status, most often an employer for a right-to-work check or a landlord for a right-to-rent check. The checker enters the code and your date of birth on GOV.UK and sees your name, photograph and the permission you hold. Each code is valid for a fixed period and then lapses.
There is no direct Turkish counterpart. The closest comparison is the barcode or verification code printed on e-Devlet documents, which lets a Turkish office confirm a document online, but a share code reveals live status rather than a fixed document. A Turkish employer or bank cannot use one, because the checking page is built for UK checks.
Share codes are not translated; nothing about them is a document. What a Turkish body will want instead is a translated status printout or letter, which we cover under translations for employers and HR.
