eVisa — explained for Turkish readers
The UK's online record of immigration status, viewed through a UKVI account and shared with a share code. Not to be confused with Türkiye's tourist e-Visa.
An eVisa is the online record of your UK immigration status that replaced the biometric residence permit and, in most cases, the vignette in the passport. It is accessed through a UKVI account linked to your passport, shows your status, conditions and expiry, and is proved to third parties by generating a share code. There is no card.
The name causes confusion for Turkish readers, because Türkiye's e-Vize is something else entirely: a short-stay entry visa bought online by visitors. The UK eVisa is not an application and cannot be obtained at the border; it is the status you already hold, shown digitally.
