Hizmet dökümü — meaning and English translation

The service record is the SGK's chronological account of a person's insured working life: for each period it names the employer and its registration number, the start and end dates, the number of contribution days, the earnings declared and the insurance category (4/a employee, 4/b self-employed, 4/c civil servant). It is downloaded from e-Devlet with a barcode, and the printout can run to many pages for a long career. A summary line gives total days, which is the figure pension calculations use.

Our rendering is “service record (hizmet dökümü)”; the subheading “SGK registration and service statement” is used where the document's own title reads that way. Employer names are transliterated, not translated, so that they can be matched to company registers.
