Translating Turkish medical reports, discharge summaries, prescriptions and vaccination records for the NHS, insurers and regulators, and UK medical reports for Turkish purposes such as military service and licence renewal, with the confidentiality these documents need.
Medical documents go to a GP surgery, an NHS consultant, an insurer, a school, the Home Office (adult dependent relative and some other routes) or a healthcare regulator, and each has its own expectations. A Turkish epikriz (discharge summary), heyet raporu (medical board report), ilaç raporu (medication report) or aşı kartı (vaccination record) needs a certified English translation that keeps drug names, doses and diagnoses exact. In the other direction, UK GP letters and medical reports are translated for Turkish purposes such as dövizle askerlik health exemptions or driving-licence renewal, where the consulate has its own translator rule. Frequently asked questions
Does my GP need a certified translation of my Turkish medical records?
GP registration itself needs no documents. Once registered, a GP or consultant can only act on records they can read, so a certified translation of the relevant reports (epikriz, test results, medication report) helps continuity of care, particularly for ongoing prescriptions. How do you translate drug names and doses?
Brand names are kept as written with the international non-proprietary name added in brackets where the brand is not sold in the UK; doses, units and frequencies are copied exactly and checked by the reviser. We do not substitute UK equivalents; that is a clinical decision.
Who translates medical documents?
Translators with medical translation experience, revised by a second linguist. Certified medical translations are done by people, never by machine translation, and access is limited to the staff working on the order because the data is special-category under UK GDPR and KVKK.
What does the GMC require for translated documents?
The original-language document and a complete English translation made directly from it, with the translator's or translation service's contact details, stamped and signed. Translations made via a third language are refused. Our certificate is adapted to that wording for GMC applicants; see translations for GMC registration.
Will an insurer accept your translation of a Turkish medical report?
Insurers set their own rules, but a certified translation with the translator's contact details is what they generally ask for in claims and underwriting. If a particular insurer wants a specific format or wording, send us its requirement and we adapt the certificate. Our accuracy and acceptance policy covers re-issue if the format is queried.
My child's school wants the vaccination record. Does it need certifying?
Schools and GP practices usually accept a certified translation of the aşı kartı so that the Turkish schedule can be matched to the UK one. It is a one-page document at the minimum price, and the vaccine names are given with their UK equivalents in brackets. See Turkish vaccination record translation.
I need a UK medical report translated for dövizle askerlik or licence renewal in Türkiye.
For a health-based military service exemption, the report goes to Turkish military health authorities and is translated and notarised in Ankara. For renewing a Turkish driving licence at the London Consulate, the consulate's note requires the translation to be made by a translator authorised by the consulate, which we are not; we tell you this before you order. Can you translate handwritten doctor's notes?
We translate what is legible and mark the rest as illegible rather than guess, which matters more in medicine than anywhere else. If a report is central to a claim, a typed copy from the hospital (many Turkish hospitals issue e-Nabız records) is a better source than a handwritten one.
Do you provide medical interpreting for appointments?
Remote telephone and video interpreting is available. NHS appointments normally have interpreters booked through the trust's own contract, so ask the clinic first; where a patient or a private clinic arranges interpreting privately, we provide it remotely or, where a UK-based interpreter is available, in person.
