Immigration and nationality fees are set by regulations and usually change in the spring. We keep this page as a pointer to the current table rather than a copy of it, because copies go out of date quietly.
Where the numbers actually live
Every application fee is set in the Immigration and Nationality (Fees) Regulations and published as a fees table on GOV.UK. The table is updated when the regulations are amended, most often in the spring, and it is the only place worth reading.The current figures are published on the official page linked from this update; check them there, because they change without notice.
The costs that are not in the table
Applicants budget for the fee and are then caught by the rest. The immigration health surcharge is charged separately, per year of leave, and paid up front. Biometrics appointments at a visa application centre carry their own charges for priority slots and document scanning. Overseas criminal record certificates cost money in the issuing country. How to check before you pay
Open the fees table on the day, find the row for the route and the place of application, and take a screenshot for your records. If a rise is announced before your application is submitted, the fee in force when you pay is the one you owe.
