Final order — explained for Turkish readers
The order that ends a marriage or civil partnership in England and Wales under the no-fault divorce procedure introduced on 6 April 2022.
The final order is the modern name for the document that dissolves a marriage in England and Wales. Since the Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Act 2020 came into force on 6 April 2022, a divorce runs through a conditional order after a minimum of twenty weeks, and a final order six weeks after that. No fault has to be shown; the applicant states only that the marriage has broken down irretrievably.
Turkish readers should treat the final order exactly as they would a decree absolute: it is the kesinleşmiş boşanma kararı. Because the English court does not stamp a kesinleşme şerhi on the order, the translation itself has to carry the wording that shows the order is final.
Article 27/A of the Nüfus Hizmetleri Kanunu lets a UK final order be registered at a nüfus office without a separate recognition case if both spouses apply; we translate it as a UK decree absolute or final order into Turkish.
